The tone of Silverstein's poetry book was silly =p. All of the poem's had a lesson in some way, but it was fun to read and I really enjoyed it! Some poems really made me laugh!

A tone in Dr.Seuss's The Cat in the Hat there is a happy and silly tone in it. Because, they're a lot of made up words and funny ryhmes.

A tone in the book "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein, is Humorouse. He exagerates about many fictional characters and objects. Many things he describes makes you want to laugh which is why he has a humorouse tone

The poem I wrote called The Dollar, has a tone of adventure and exploration. However, my other poem called Fear had a dark tone at the beginning, but a sence of relif at the end.

Shel Silverstein is really imaginative and like Carolyn said, silly in a way that no one could even comprehend. He always finds a way to connect to the reader through his creative words. I even find some of his poems so entertaining I read them over and over again till I get bored of them and the turn the page and repeat this way till I finish the book.

A peom called Three Swans by Joan Mellings has an emotional tone to show the feelings of swans and the environment they live in. This poem gives you a calm picture in your mind and also gives you a relaxing feeling about nature.

in a lot of poems in shel silverstien's book "where the sidewalk ends" the tone is humor because if you read a lot of his poems you will find that they are funny. one example of a poem in this book is " if i had a brontosaurus"

The tone of the book that I am reading"Into Thin Air" is sad because it is about all of the people that died on Mt. Everest.

Shel Silverstein's tone is usually kind of funny but they usually have a lesson to it. That's why I like his poems because he makes them funny and not boring and you learn something.

Lately, I have been reading a lot of books be Ellen Hopkins, whose the author of Crank, Burned, Impulse and Glass. All four of those books are written completely in poetry and have a more serious tone, like loneliness and death... for example, the book Impulse is about three people who tried to commit suicide and fail. They end up at the same rehabilitaion center and express their feelings to one another. The book was all in poetry, so it was interesting to read about all the negative events going on in their lives. Anyhow, the tone of the book makes you feel really emotional andintense about everything after you read the book.
