One poem that really "spoke" to me was the poem by Shel Silverstein "The Missing Piece". Even though he probably didn't intend to say this meaning in his poem, I think it is showing a lot. This poem is showing how when you lose something that you really loved or needed in your life, it will be gone for a while. But then someday, you will get over it and that piece will come back you.

The Poem I read was at the worlds edge by shel silverstien this was a good poem because it told how Columbus was wrong and the world is flat I thought that was funny. I learned anything can be funny even if its not.

I read a poem in the book "Spalsh" , it has many various poems about water and things that have to do with water. I think that one of them that was about bubbles was humorous and interseting. The author talked about how people could have called bubbles "froth bee baths" (etc). and the author was happy that someone took hte thought into calling bubbles , bubbles!! I think that the author did have a good point, bubbles are bubbles and any other name just wouldn't fit!! :)

poem that spoke to me personally was a poem that I wrote myself. It was about a friend coming to help another friend. It was almost easy for me to write it because it was going on in my life. One friend was angery at the other so they wouldn't talk to each other. I was the person who had to comfort her while they were in a fight. Don't worry though, the fight is long over. :)

A poem that spoke to me personally is a poem my sister wrote. It's about how you can't give up on life when it gets hard. Everyone is going somewhere but there are some long hard journeys on the way.

A poem that my mother, (Janet Brown Mendell) has been trying to publish for a few years now is about a girl who is in a blended family with step sibblings that she refuses to get along with. This poem was actually written about my sister and I being a character which my mother changed the name to Daisy J. Brown. When I first read this poem, I noticed a message that was being sent through Daisy's attitude toward her new step sibblings. I was able to connect with Daisy about the way that she felt about her sibblings, but I learned from Daisy's mistake about being negative towarad the way that I felt.

One poem that spoke to me was "Sick" by Shel Silverstein. This is because it's about a kid who pretends to be sick so she can miss school, only to find out it's Saturday and stops. I can definitely imagine myself doing this.

One poem that "spoke" to me was "A Frog, a Stick". I really liked this poem because it has a style I love to write. This poem made me see how unique everyone is and how so many silly things can brighten up ones day. For example, throughout the poem the author lists many different objects. Then, at the very end, he finishes with"... and that's what's in my pocket now." I just thought it was a great poem for someone who needed something different in their lives.

Something that really "spoke" to me was my favorite song, "The Way She Feels" by Between the Trees. It taught me to not let sad things get a hold of you, and if it seems that your parents dont understand you dont go ahead and pretend like everything is okay, let them in and tell them whats going on.

It was about midnight when everything is calm and motionless and asleep. i can really connect to this because i have many times when im up until midnight and it always seems so quiet and peaceful and still. its as if the whole world is standing still.

A poem that I really liked was called "Bubbles," it was about how anyone in the world could have named them something worse than bubble so thank goodness they did. It shows how anything in this world could be named something different but someone decided to name it the name it is for a reason!

A poem that really spoke to me was a poem called School Lunch by Michel Bowman. This poem was very short by still had a lot of feelings tide into it. For example, “I have smelled the things they’re cooking, and they’re toxic I suppose." this quote from the poem is explaining why he will not taste the school lunches and why he will always bring his lunch. This poem was not meant to have meaning because it was silly but I always bring my lunch to school, so I can connect to how he is feeling.

A poem that really "spoke" to me was "Escape" by Emily Dickinson.
It's about someone that's trying to escape the hardships of life but then finds out that hardships are a part of life and you can't escape life.

Yes there was this one poem that spoke to me personally. The poem was called Waves. It made me think about the times when I was little and I would chase the birds and my brothers into the waves. It also spoke to me in a negative way. It made me think of a time when I was little and I got tumbled in this gigantic wave. I was about 4 years old at the time. I got tumbled so hard that I tried to get back up to the surface and hit my head on the bottom of the ocean. So this poem gave me some good and bad memories. (Kaitlyn O.)

The movie goal is an inspiring movie about a soccer play that disobeyed his father. He did this so he could succeed in life and not always work for his dad. Also to fulfill his lifelong dream. This taught me to never give up your dreams because they can come true in one way or another

The poem that really spoke out to me was Ickle me pickle me tickle me too By: Shel Silvertien because it is about these three things that go flying in a shoe and never come back. Like my brothers when they play games it’s like you never see them again until dinner.

A poem that I connected with was By: Shel Silberstein called “Ickle me, pickle me, tickle me too”. This poem connects to me because it reminds me of my brothers and how they go to play games and then you don’t see them for the rest of the day.

a poem that connected to me because of its humor is the taunting tree, this poem is funny because the tree drops an apple on some kids head and he gets made and tries to beat up the tree, after that he broke his knee and arm. This poem also connects because I also was taunted by a tree when it got in the way of me swinging on a swing, and I hit the tree. I like reading about because it’s funny.

My favorite kinds of poems are poems that rhyme because they flow through my mind as I read and that’s what makes me want to keep on reading. I also enjoy how funny and entertaining they are. Especially the ones by Shel Silverstein, he makes me laugh a lot. I like how he always includes small morals in his poems so that it’s not too much to take in, but still worth reading. For example, one of the morals in the poems is to always make do with what you have.

This poem spoke to me, because it sent an inspiring message to never give up, and to not worry about what other people think of you. It also sent a message to be proud of yourself, and to not put yourself down.

A poem that really spoke to me was Little Abigail and the Beautiful Pony by Shel Silverstein. It is about a girl who wants a pony and her parents wouldn't buy it for her and eventually she died because she didn't get it. That poem spoke to me because I can tell my parents that story whenever I want something and my parents won't buy it for me.

A poem that spoke to me personally is one that I made. It's called Don't Know Me and it's about someone who will go anywhere in the world to find a place where someone won't know him/her. This poem reminds me of times where people get in fights and when they make up to each other they forget about what happened. The poem also says in it about how people she/he knows won't forget.

One poem that I can connect to is Peanut-Butter Sandwich by Shel Silverstein. This poem is about a king who will only eat peanut butter sandwiches until his mouth gets stuck. This reminds me of my brother because my brother will only eat peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. He won’t buy lunch and won’t bring anything without peanut butter in it. This connection is very similar to the poem.

One poem that spoke to me is a poem called Bubbles. It's about how a bubble is called a bubble. This relates to me because there are a lot of words in the dictionary that have no meaning at all, and seem to be made up of random letters. This annoys me because every word should be named for a reason.

A poem by William Garrison called" the hour of freedom" really spoke to me by telling how horrible it was when white boys and black boys couldn’t play together because of those stupid laws. This poem told me that if you stand up in what you believe in, nobody could ever bring you down no matter what happens! "When glorious freedom shall be won, and color cease to be a crime."

One poem that spoke to me was called Lazy Jane. I can relate to it because of the words in it, which describes a girl who is so lazy she wont even move when she’s thirsty, she will just wait until it rains. This relates to me because I am very lazy myself. And I wait for things rather then going to get them.

The poem called "September" talks about all the beautiful changes from summer to fall, such as leaves turning orange and a golden sort of haze around everything in sight. My favorite part of the poem goes:
By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer's best of weather
And autumn's best of cheer.
This poem spoke to me because I like how the author focuses on all the good things about autumn, instead of the bad things.

A poem that really spoke to me was "Early Bird," By: Shel Silverstein. It goes like this:
Oh, if you're a bird, be an early bird

And catch the worm for your breakfast plate.

If you're a bird, be an early bird-

But if you're a worm, sleep late.

This poem spoke to me because it is something that I would like to say. I like to have verbal battles and twist the meanings of common phrases.
