From Mrs. Marusa and Miss Schweikert

We are so proud of the comments you have posted on this blog! This is just another way to talk with your friends about good books. We love seeing what you think about what you're reading, and hope you are having fun too. We really love how you guys are acknowledging what your peers have said, and are asking and answering questions. Also, the quality and thoroughness of your answers are fantastic! You've given so many good recommendations for us that we're having a hard time keeping up with the books you're reading!

A few things we have noticed though is you need to remember this is a public forum, which means everyone can read it. Therefore, make sure you check your spelling, punctuation, and capitalization before you post a comment. Also, make sure your name is in parentheses at the end of your comment so we know who is saying what!

Please do not respond to the questions give in November. You will only receive credit for answering NEW questions for December this month.

Keep up the great work!

Love,
Mrs. Marusa and Miss Schweikert

Book in the Movies

If you could, what book would you make into a movie and who would you cast to star in it? Explain your choices.

Favorite Quote

Choose a favorite line or quote from a novel you enjoyed or are enjoying, and explain why it is your favorite quote.

Sensory Language

Sensory language is when the author uses words and details that appeal to a reader's senses (sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, emotion). Discuss how this technique adds to your understanding and enjoyment of the novel. Be specific and use examples.

Punctuation

How does the author use punctuation to show meaning? Give an example and explain the author's purpose. Note: Recall how in Bedhead Margie Palatini used ellipses, dashes, fragments, etc.

Similes

A simile is a comparison using "as" or "like". Choose a simile from the book you are currently reading and explain why the author used that simile.
