My favorite novel is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I like historical fiction books, which is what this is. I also like the mystery and suspense in this novel because you never really know who is guilty and who isn't. Like with Boo Radley; you don't really know if he is a good guy or a bad guy until the end of the novel.

My favorite novel is TTYL by Lauren Myracle. it is a very funny book and is fun for girls to read. It is set in a high school and is very much like what happens in real life, drama, boys, etc. I enjoy reading books like this.

My favorite novel is Drowning Anna by Sue Mayfield. I truly enjoy reading books that have characters around my age that are pretty stressed out, like myself. This book was also very suspenseful. For example, you have to read basically the whole novel to find out if Anna is going to live or die, but by then end it still leaves you on a cliff hanger. Sue Mayfield is a great author, and I hope she writes a sequel to this amazing book. (Coly Konstantino)

My favorite novel is Where the Heart Is, by Billie Letts. I like this book becasue it is a very touching story. Another reason I like it is because there are a lot of life-lessons in it that make you think. Such as when Novalee meets Moses and he teaches her about the importance of a name. The book is a must-read with much importance.

My favorite novel is most likely the Uglies series. I like the book because it has interesting things that have to do with what the future might be like. Tally Youngblood is changing constantly throughout the books. She's angry, upset, happy, worried, or even a whole new person. Once reading the first book you will most likely get hooked and want to read all 3 of them. theay are action packed and vert thrilling! you never know what will happen next. (Emily K.)

I agree with Luke, funnily enough. I LOVE the Cirque du Freak series! It is really good. I'm a big science fiction and fantasy fan, so I also recommend some of these authors: D.J. MacHale, Eoin Colfer, K.A. Applegate, Stephanie Meyer, and Rick Riordan. I just finished the book Freak the Mighty, and I thought that was awesome! (Most of the books I read have to do with things that could NEVER happen in real life, so if you're a very realistic person, you might not like a lot of the books I do. Freak the Mighty IS realistic fiction though.)

My favorite novel is the book called, SPUD by John van de Ruit. SPUD is about John Milton who is 14 and goes to a boarding school in southern Africa. He learns life lessons on the way and almost goes crazy thanks to his cubicle mate. If you like fiction books that take place in the 1990's, SPUD is the book for you. It is also very humerous. Just like luke i really like the Cirque Series, actually i recomended it to him. I think the cirque Series for anyone really. Its just so good, its like harry potter, to some people the Cirque Series might be even beter. Also adding to Gina i ilike science fiction a lot. One of the best science fisction novels I have read is called Enders Game. My mom recomended it to me and it is kind of a hard read, however it is really good. The media center at school probably wont have it, but you can find it in Barsen Nobles, or maybe even in the Easton library. Lastly, another science fiction book is the Scorpion House. This is an easy read, and takes a while untill the action comes in, but when the action starts, you cant stop reading

I can't choose just one favorite novel, but my favorite author is definetly John Feinstein. He is a former sportswriter that now writes behind the scenes sports books. The storlines of his books actually happened, and it is very interesting to hear another take on these events. I would reccomend that anybody really into sports try one of his books.

My favorite novel would have to be the seventh Harry Potter. It is the last one, so to understand you would have to read the rest. The seventh Harry Potter is probubly the only book where I counted down the days until it came out. I also read it in one day because I wanted to know the end so badly. Don't be fooled by my unnaturally fast reading; its not really an easy book. I recomend the series to someone whohas a lot of time and likes fantasy, like me.

One of my favorite books is So B. It by Sarah Weeks. I like this book because it is a cross between a mystery and adventure. A girl sets out on an adventure to find the true meaning of her mysterious mother. her mom says weird words, such as "soof", and never feels well.i would recommend this to anyone, ages 10 and up.

Chris, The Uglies is a really great story. It is pretty much about the future. So, Tally Youngblood, a teenage girl, is living in the future and can't wait to be pretty(a sergury to become perfect) However, she meets a new friend Shay who doesn'y want to be pretty. Together, they go on an advenyure and find out what pretty is all about! It's not really a boy book, but i think you should try it. You never know, it could turn out to be your favorite book.(Gabby S)

This book is for people who like to read any books really, it is about the future and there is a good amount of boys and the book as well as girls! so girls and guys should read it and it was written by a guy! so this book is pretty much good for anyone! i loved them, i could never put it down.

My favorite novels are the Pendragon books. They're really good fantasy books with a lot of action. They're about a kid who has powers to travel between time and space and has to stop an evil guy named Saint Dane. All of them take place on different worlds but follow the same storyline. If you like books with a lot of cliff-hangars and adventure these books are for you.

My favorite novel is Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard. It has a lot of suspense and always leaves you asking who's A? I'd recommend it to any girl from like 12 - 25..

(Caroline R.)

Anika said...

Christian- The Uglies series takes place in the future. It is about people who turn into "pretties" when they turn 16 and before that they are "uglies." The transformation is plastic surgery. They get new skin, hair, etc.,(Every ugly wants to beone. They are perfect) but you find out later in the books that there is also something wrong with turning pretty. Tally, the main character, befriends a girl name named Shay and she gives Tally a whole different perspective on being pretty. Through the series, you find out whether or not Tally turns pretty and what is so wrong about being pretty.
I don't think the series is "a girl series." It's a good book for everyone to read. When I lived in New York, I was in a reading group and we read this book. There were boys and girls in it so I definetely dont think it's a girls book. There is a lot of action and interesting things in it. You should read them. They are really good and once you read the first, you want to read the others.
I'm not a great book-explainer but that's pretty much what it's about. Anyone can add to my explaination if they want.

My favorite novel is "She Said Yes" by Misty Bernall. I enjoyed this novel very much because it was a true story about a girl named Cassie who was killed in the Columbine shooting. I think that this book is great for seventh grade boys and girls because Misty Bernall writes about her daughters life and her decision making before her April 2006 death from the Columbine shooting. Bernall writes about letters and objects that she found in her daughter's room after she was killed. This book also showed me two different sides of a mother's life and a girls life. Now I can see how much stress we preteens put on our mothers. At times, this book gets very sad and touching. However, I do hope that you enjoy!

I just recently finished a book by Sarah Dessen called, "the Truth About Forever". it's kind of comlicated to explain but, the main point n this novel is that a girl named Macy is the perfect girl doing everyhting that her mother wants her to do. But when her boyfriend Jason goes away to "Brain Camo" for the summer and she decides to joing the catering business her mother hires her life changes. She becomes more free and does what SHE wants to do and that is making her mom insecure because she is still grieving over her husbands death, and her mom wants her to stay the same and not change form being the perect princess to a free bird. I reccomend this book because it shows that change is a good thing no matter what happens in your life.

I like his books because they're like fantasy but just at the point where you can't draw the line between fantasy and reality. He also has awesome ideas, such as a pair of glasses that can grant you any wish, an amusement park where you have to survive seven rides based on all of your own personal fears by dawn, and a society of people living under the streets of New York City. One of my favorite novels is "Paint the Wind" By Pam Muñoz Ryan. It tells to separate stories of a girl who's overprotective Grandma, has been keeping her locked in her house, and keeping secrets from her all along. The other story of a wild horse in the country part of the west. These two stories finally meet in a fairy tale sort of way. It is a very fascinating story, and the way Pam Muñoz Ryan connects these two stories is amazing, and it all ends up a whole world a way from the ideas that you predict along the way. I think everyone that reads this novel will want to read it again, and feel the same way as I do! (P.S. anyone that wants to read it I have a copy, but it is also available at the book fair in school.)

I have alot of recamendations(can't spell that word :X)

I would recomend the Heartland series, by Lauren Brook, if you are in to horses and riding. But if your not I don't think you would like it, no affence. It's about a 16 yearold girl, named Amy, and her mother died in a accident, and her father moved away so she lives with her grampa, and her siter Lou, and she runs a stable, called "Hearland" and she heals horses that have fear, and that people call "untrainable". The fisrt book is when her mother dies.

I also recemend the Phantom Stallion series by, Terry Farley. Again I only recommend this book if you like horses.
I also recomend the following:

So B. It

The Child Called It Series
(very sad) ( I almost cryed last year) It's about this bog named David, he is siverly abused, one of the worst cases, and its true.
He has 2 other brothers, and they get treated like kings, but david got treated like pinyata..lol like when you wack the living out of it for candy. His mom beats him, starves him, and treats him like a slave, from the time he was 5 till like 12 i think. The 1st book is Called, The child called it 2nd book is THe Lost Boy 3rd book is, A Man named Dave. for more info on his books go to this website http://www.davepelzer.com/

I would think that a few people know this book. It's called "Little Women", it's about four sisters-Meg,Jo,Amy,and Beth. Their father is at war and their mother works hard. This story has suspence, romance, and can be sad at times. I think that it was very good,I wound up reading it twice because it read it one year then two years later I read it again! I think that it is fine for girls or boys. I definetely recommend this book to you. :)

My favorite novels are the Harry Potter series. I like this series the best because the author JK Rowling can write a really long book with a lot of detail and still make it one of the most enjoyable books I have ever read. I also like how she builds the suspense for the main event in the 7th book (The Deathly Hallows) when Harry has to battle Voldemort.

My favorite novel(s) are the TTYL seiries. I am in the middle of the second one now and it is really good. I like it because it can be real life situation between fiends. I also like the format because it is all IMs between these three girls. The only thing I don't like about it is that they ONLY talk in IMs and sometimes something happened during the day so you don't know what they are talking about. I definatley reccomend it for all seventh grade girls! (The full series of books are TTYL, TTFN, and l8er
g8er.)

My favorite novel is Animal Farm by George Orwell. It is a fiction book, and it is meant for adults, but there aren’t a lot of bad words. It is a book for animal-lovers, but even if you aren’t one, you would still like it. It is about animals taking over a farm because they are being tortured, and they make rules, which they slowly break as the book goes on.

I definitely agree with Ali, and Sarah B. 9and many others.) I LOVE the Clique series. They are an amazing series about girls that are in seventh grade, just like us. They live in Westchester, NY and most of them are extremely rich. They're names are Massie, Claire, Alicia, Kristen and Dylan. It's really fun to read about them because they are all so different in each of their own ways. The clique books are never boring because there is always some event going on in their life. Girls my age would enjoy it because theirs lots of gossip, boys and drama. I recommend it to girls in middle school and maybe young high school. This series will make you want to keep on reading until you get to the end.

My favorite novel is Cupidity. I like this book because it is about a girl who asks for a boyfriend from the roman gods. And when the gods here it her wish comes true but in a very different way. The gods sent down cupid in a costume that looked like a girl. All the boys liked her so they were braking up with their girlfriends to try to go out with her. and cupid gets mixed up and forgot about the girl and then the gods had to come in and make the girls wish come true. i would recomend this book to girls because it is more about a girls life and boys wouldn't be interested in it. and if any one read ttyl can you please tell me where it is or what it is about.

A book that I am currently enjoying is Twilight. The book is about a girl, who is 17 and new to a school. She gets to know this boy Edward and he turns out to be a vampire! When I first read the back of the book, I thought that it would be weird and very kiddish, but it totally isn't. I reccomend this book to anyone who likes to read sci fi/fantasy/realistic fiction..or Harry Potter! The book is VERY good and worth reading..I'm not finished with it yet, but I'm looking forward to what happens in the end.

ONE of my favorite novels I read this year. I actually didn't want to read it, but I had to because it was for one of my genre goals =) Marley & Me is about the life of "the world's worst dog". Marley is a loyal, loving dog that just never seemed to grow up. I loved this book because it was from the author's heart. Being a true story there was many emotions and I really felt what the author was feeling. It made me laugh and cry at times with everything that dopey dog did. It's a great book that I would recommend to any dog lover or anyone who likes a good true life story.

A novel I am currently reading that I like even though it is very said is She Said Yes. Its about a girl named Cassie who was shot at her school, Columbine High School. A few months before Cassie was shot she was drifting further and further away from her parents. When Cassie was younger she was so close to her parents, espically her dad. This book shows what Cassie's parents and brother went through from weeks before Cassie died to months later. Some say the shooter asked Cassie if she belived in God and she answered yes, the shooter said and why is that ( while holding a gun to her head ) and she didn't have enough time to answer... they shot her. Read this book and find out what its really like to lose someone so close to you. I think I enjoy reading this because I lost my grandma this past summer and I am feeling quite a lot of things the author (Missy Bernall, Cassie's mom) is feeling.

Another one of my favorite books is Shakespears secert. I found that book intresting first because of the author. She lives in Easton and is a good friend to our faimly. I think she is a brilliant not because of what she writes but because of the way she writes. She writes with really good desciption and ideas. The book is a phenomenal mystrie book about a girl whos name is Hero and herself and a boy whos name is Danny Cordova (hes in Heros sisters grade her name is Beatrice) they got hunting down a dimond left in Heros house. (Hero just moved there and is starting school.) She gets much of her information from her kid next door neighbor whos has part of the neclace in which the murphy dimond behold but she has been dieing to see. Elise Broach is trying to send is that if you think positive about somthing then you can achieve it.I think this is the message because Hero thinks she can't make any friends, that she can only blend in not fit in, and she almost gives up on the mystery, but then she starts to think positive and eventually achieves the mystery.(Michelle Scatamacchia)
