Ask the Author

Think about a novel you have recently enjoyed. If the author were alive today, what would you most like to ask him/her, and why would you want to ask him/her this? Be sure to include the author's name and title in your answer.

One book that I have recently enjoyed was Drowning Anna by Sue Mayfeild. If I could meet the author I would ask if she experienced the same thing Anna did in the story. I would ask this because I would want to know where she got the idea of writing this novel and if she went through the same situation Anna did. (Firdaus K.)

An author that id like to talk to is the author of the CIrque Series, Darren Shan. I've heard that he created HArry Potter, and think he has but, I thought the author of Harry Potter was a girl (J.K. Rowling). If this was the same author then I really wonder how did he/she come up with these ideas. ANd what was her favorite book out of Harry Potter or, Cirque De Freak?

One book I have not recently enjoyed but have enjoyed not very recently is Harry Potter. Actually, thats a whole series. If I could ask JK Rowling( who is the author, Christian) one question it would be: how did you think of all these details? (JK Rowling IS alive, by the way) Through out the series (especailly the last book), tiny things are always connecting back to something I may have read in one of the other books. It's amazing how she can have all of those connections in her head while writing the series.I would want to know how she did it!

One author I would like to ask a question to would be Stephenie Meyer who writes the Twilight Series. The question I would ask her would be: How do you make it so everything fits in the story line, and where do you get your inspiration? I would want to know this because maybe I could use it in my own writing.

I am completely with Gabby and would love to see a Clique movie! I would also want to ask Lisi Harrison how she developed these characters. Did she get inspiration from the people around her? Does she have a favorite character? And are Massie and the rest of the Pretty Committe supposed to be good people or poorly seen people? This would help me when writing a short story.

If i could talk to an author in real life, it would be hard. This is a really hard decision. I think I would have to pick Darren Shan, writer of the Cirque Du Freak series. I would ask him how he thought of this random, but interesting topic. He must be real creative, and BRAINSTORMED ALOT. I think it would be real cool in real life to talk to this author.

Lisi Harrison has written eight books in the clique sereis so far and I would like to know where she got her ideas of the stories? Did she live that way as a child (like the pretty commitee) or has she seen someone act like the pretty commitee that gave her the idea to write about it? What gave her the motivation to write stories like that?

One book IU just finished is called Inside Girl: The Sweetest Thing by J. Minter. A question I would ask the author is where she came up with the story line for her book, and I would also ask her if when she was growning up she was like the main character, Flan Flood. I personally think there should be an Inside Girl movie!

Ali, I heard a little rumor about the girls being relatives to Lisi harrison. I'm not sure if its true, but I was wondering if you knew because I also want to know more about the characters!

If I could meet John Feinstein, the author of many sports books, one of them my favorite, I would ask him several questions. My first one would be how he puts real events into such detail because searching all the information he finds would take a long time and he writes books at a pretty fast pace. In addition, I would ask him at what age did he start following sports and at what age did he start writing sports books for children our age and adults. Last but not least, I would ask him what his favorite sports teams are to see if we have any in common or to see if that reflects what he writes about. I would be happy to meet John Feinstein.

If I could ask an Author any question I would ask Pam Munoz Ryan one. I would ask her if when she was a child, was her passion to write or was it changed over her life time. I would ask this because I think it would be interesting to find out what she wanted to become as a child. She is a great writer, I for one love her novels. It would be very facinating to see if she was strong from the start of if she was all of a sudden awesome, at just a random point in her life.

I have a question for the autor of Go Ask Alice. The author is The charachter in the book who does drugs so I want to know how did she feel when she was doing drugs and when she was hiding it all from her parents. I also want to know why did she decide to make her diary a book so everyone could know her story and all about her dreadful life. If I had the author answer me I think she would say that she wanted to show people and tell people not to do drugs and iif they do that they will have a horrible life.

The Author I would ask a question is to S.E. Hinton. I would ask her, why she has not been writing latly? If she ever thought about having Taming The Start Runner, made into a film? But I'm confused, in alot of her books someone gets killed, I just don't understand why someone always dies?!?!

An author I would like to talk to is J.K. Rowling. I have read all of the Harry Potter books and I thought they were good. I would want to ask her why she didn't make a book 8. I felt as if she left the series hanging. I would also ask her if she made a book eight what would it mostly be about. The others were great so I would expect if she made a book 8 it would be the best. I would also like to know how she can get all the ideas for all of her books without forgetting them.

An author I would like to talk to would be Nicholas Sparks. Sparks wrote The Notebook and I would like to know what inspired him to write it. I would also like to know if something in his past effected it or if it had to do with someone else.

One book that i just finished was Tims Stores by S.E. Hinton. What inspired me the most was the author, because The Outsiders book was really good i wanted to look into more of her books. Tims Stories was about Terry and his cousin Mike (they are relly close)both of there dads were killed in a car accident. When the cousins are both 25, a drug deal goes wrong: Terry is imprisoned, while Mike gets away, living a fugitive life in Oklahoma as a bartender and bouncer. There are 5 stories telling about there lives and they are all very well described and attention getting.(Michelle Scatamacchia)

A book that I have recently enjoyed is The Five People You Meet in Heaven, by Mitch Albom. If I could ask him one question, I would ask him what happens if you don't go to heaven, or does everyone go to heaven? I would want to ask this because it wasn't explained in the book and I was wondering about it.
